one-to-one mentoring

Maybe you’ve been doing your own book design and production for a while and you feel pretty confident about it but would like to take your game to the next level. Or maybe you’re just getting into it and aren’t even sure what the big deal is but you’re a little confused about all the different options. Or maybe you’ve been working with a designer for a while and would just like to talk with another professional about how that relationship might be more productive.

I’m available for one-to-one scheduled mentoring sessions by phone. When something comes up, you can book a one-hour session for $150 * or purchase a block of four sessions for $500 * to schedule as you need them over the next six months. If you have some other structure in mind, get in touch and let’s see if we can develop a custom one-to-one mentoring package.

Some of the topics I’ve discussed in previous sessions include print production workflow and profitability issues, project planning, working with designers, trade practices and high level use of InDesign [this depends upon your level of expertise with the software as it’s not really a training session]. You might also use a session to outline a self-training program to become more proficient in the hardware and software appropriate for your work. [I’m not able to provide technical support to resolve hardware and software issues nor am I able to be “on call” for emergencies.] Sessions are scheduled and you will receive an mp3 recording to review at your leisure.

Please  get in touch for a free, no-obligation discussion of whether my mentoring is the right fit for you at this time.

I hired cj when I was in a tight spot. My client wanted a book with a more complex design than my designer could deliver and the printing deadline was three weeks away. I called cj to ask whether she could salvage the project. She not only created a beautiful book in record time but also managed the whole process with professionalism and grace. Because the experience was so positive and the book so successful, she is now the first (not the second) person I call.
